How to predict funding rates

Every 1-8 hours, crypto exchanges settle funding rates. Settled lets you bet on the outcome before it happens. Here's how.

Step 01

Pick a market

Every perpetual futures contract has a funding rate that settles every 1-8 hours. We create a YES/NO market for each one: "Will the funding rate be positive at the next settlement?"

3,700+ symbols across Binance, Bybit, KuCoin, Gate, and Hyperliquid. New markets created automatically before each settlement.

Step 02

Choose YES or NO

Think the crowd is overleveraged long? Funding stays positive → buy YES. Think a squeeze is coming? Funding flips negative → buy NO. The price reflects what other traders think.

Prices move with an automated market maker (AMM). The more people buy one side, the higher the price goes — just like a real market.

Step 03

Get paid when it settles

At settlement time, we read the actual funding rate from the exchange API. Positive rate → YES wins. Negative → NO wins. Winners get $1 per share minus 1% fee. Losers lose their cost.

No human oracle. No disputes. The exchange data IS the truth. Every outcome is verifiable on Solana Explorer.

Settles in hours, not months

New markets every hour. Results every 1-8 hours. Fastest prediction market in crypto.

No human oracle

The exchange API is the truth. Rate is positive → YES wins. Negative → NO wins. No disputes.

Price doesn't matter

BTC can pump or dump. You're betting on the crowd, not the chart. Zero price exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are funding rates?

Funding rates are periodic payments between long and short traders on perpetual futures exchanges. They keep the futures price aligned with spot. When more people are long, longs pay shorts (positive rate). When more are short, shorts pay longs (negative rate).

Can I predict which way the funding rate will go?

Yes — funding rates have strong persistence. When the rate is positive, 99.9% of the time the next settlement is also positive. The direction has memory. This isn't random — it's driven by crowd positioning that changes slowly.

How is this different from Polymarket?

Polymarket trades elections and events that resolve in weeks or months. Settled trades funding rates that resolve every 1-8 hours. Much faster, much more frequent, and completely automated — no human decides the outcome.

Do I need real money?

No. We're on Solana devnet. Claim $1,000 free test USDC at devnet.settled.pro and start trading immediately. Zero risk.

How does the price work?

Settled uses an automated market maker called LMSR. When you buy YES, the YES price goes up. When you buy NO, the NO price goes up. The price reflects the probability the market assigns to the outcome.

What does "price doesn't matter" mean?

BTC can pump 20% and you still lose on Settled — if the crowd wasn't positioned the way you predicted. You're not betting on the price of BTC. You're betting on how the crowd is positioned. That's a completely different game.
